Well beleive it or not, some woman member of the public moaned about my other yard gate sign I fitted, it wasn't PC because I used the words "those intelligently challenged" and she has a a "mentally" challenged child it had to be took off both gates, ffs havent some people got anything better to moan about, annoying thing is it tended to work and the gate was getting shut more often than left open, she is obviously challenged herself otherwise she would realise the difference between Mentally challenged and Intelligently challenged, my wording had nothing to do with retards at all, just twats leaving the bloody gate open, anyway done a new one and fitted yesterday, lets see if anybody can find something to complain about with this one

Come on P. I understand that you're fed up with the gate situation but you immediately lose the argument when you start littering your post with words like "retard". Many people would find your new sign insulting, hostile and antagonistic and might leave the gate open on purpose. Bet you'd get better results if you can find a humorous way to get the message across - a message carried with a smile usually works better than a frown.

No, ordinary sign with "please close the gate" people kept leaving it open, "alleged" unPC sign the gate was being closed more often, read my post carefully, the word retard wasn't on the original sign and no inference to retards is mentioned or intented, (there go I but for the grace of god etc) dont care why the gate was getting closed more it just was, which was the whole point, going to see what happens with the new one, lets put it this way, gate open, horse pisses off, ploughs through kids/puschair/cyclist and there are plenty of them when the suns out, then they "will" have something to moan about and we will have a bloody great insurance claim and who's insurance is going to pay, answers on a postcard , ALL OF US:(
 
We have an old sign on our yard gate that mentions those that fail to fasten the gate get fined a max of forty shillings! Now it mentions a fine, even if it is in old money, all of a sudden it seems to be shut most of the time!!

This pic is the same as our sign, apparently an old railway one

Its weird, at my yard everyone closes the gate, never once have I seen it left open!! Hope the sign works for the idiots that decided to ignore the last one

the only thing I find upsetting about the first sign is that you used the phrase 'intellegently challenged' which is not politically incorrect, it's just incorrect! What you should have put was 'intellectually challenged'

Don't like all the un-necessary commas, mind you, but other than that I think it's fabulous!
