Ok.. Advice please people!! Am not sure if this is Horsey enough for in here, but am basicly trying to find out where I am likely to get the same acres for £'s as South Lincs!

I have been wanting to move for AGES, but have been putting it off at the request of my other half. Now I have accidently got rid of him.. meant to give it a bit more effort for a little bit longer but he pushed me just that teeny bit too far.. Oops!

I have been living in South Lincs now for way too long, and am thinking I have no reason now to put off any longer, am not in a rush, or going to make any crazy decisions, but I quite want a bit of an adventure, new start, fresh faces etc!!

So.. If you were relocating with horse, and seven year old son.. where would you go? What would you do?? My job is pretty easily moved, currently account manager for a supermarket food supplier so anywhere there are companies selling anything to evil supermarkets is an option!

Sorry if its a bit of a random request!!

depends what you want in terms of hacking, facilities, competitions, social life

You get more for your money in terms of house size and acreage the further out you get from the centre and south of England so West Wales and North Scotland is going to be better value..... but decreased options in terms of competitions etc.....

Friends (originally from Lancs) live in Caithness - very horsey, very into showing, really strong rural and equine community, amazing countryside - but 6 hours north of Edinburgh.....

Have to agree with CCP, I think Lincs has to be one of the best value for money areas.

Scotland I know you can get a lot of acreage for your money and we've thought about it many times, my brother lives up there but the weather would be my biggest bug bear and midges (apparently). Wales I don't think is as cheap as it used to be but still good value, west coast though, weather again for me, too much rain would drive me nuts.

Oh yes, forgot about this. in wales it really does rain. a lot. it's beautiful, and the rain doesn't cause the same sort of mud as here in the fens... but it really does rain for most of the year.

i often think about moving back. and my mum reminds me of the many years i spent whinging about the rain...

Wow!!! No mud!!!... Where do I sign?? I'll go tomorrow!!

Don't panic!! I'm not rushing off anywhere just yet, more that as long as Nathan is Ok, I can actually be really selfish at the moment and go where-ever I like so now is probably a good time to give it some thought!!

I do have a bit of a local back up plan though (Which will probably mean no money/social life/nice house etc etc..) for ages, but IF it works out (and am keeping everything crossed), I will be in better hacking distance of you and probably miller too, Hooray!!!
