So with the new year getting closer what goals are you hoping to achieve with your horses in 2008?

D's would have to be to reduce the amount of time he goes lame now he's semi retired.
Do some showing with the handsome git

Monty's would be getting him out and about, dressage, fun rides and showing (hopefully a ridden class this year

)
Start him jumping
Hacking alone

I am hoping that New Pony works out and that my daughter has lots of fun with Pony Club and local shows.

I am really going to bite the biscuit and try to compete my horse in dressge and if I am feeling really brave I may attempt to risk my life and jump her at the show jumping league in RC!

Small goals but something to work towards!

well i have a 4yr old nf x which is my kiddys pony they have there little rides on him around the field but he has never been schooled off the lead rein so he will go away next spring to be pro schooled... and then the kids can have some fun

showjumping!! and some showing, maybe small riding horse..
initially just getting on my horse would be a major goal!

not partaken in showing of any form since i was a wee thing, have probably forgotten everything..for instance, if i buy a black jacket and black hat is there anything i won't be able to participate in?

Scary resolution for me...2008 may be the year I take the plunge and actually buy my own horse! If I do, I'll be aiming for consistently good scores in Prelim dressage by the end of the year, maybe the odd Novice (very odd), and I think I will take the plunge and learn to jump.

Getting my OH back in the saddle more, teaching him to jump, hopefully he will try some dressage and hunter trials with Lance, (he spent last saturday accidently halfpassing across the school!)

And he wants to try some showing with Beau.

Before KatieJaye takes back her little Lou Monster I would love to be national elementary champion on him and qualify for the medium regionals - not sure how likely those goals are (especially as we have to win the elementary regionals first!) but aim for the top and all that!
And I'd like to get Eric working consistently at elementary level.
