Before the new year hits us and we have to make a start, what are your resolutions and plans for 2011? Horsey and otherwise

I will start: Horsey first.

1. get the ginger arab loading and get to a local show
2. improve our jumping and attempt a small clear round class
3. get some lessons and improve our flat work.

Non horsey:
1. Give blood for the first time and as often as possible after that
2. Get experience with young offenders/ at risk teens so i can make use of my forensic psychology degree and get a prison job
3. Improve my photography. I wanna be up there with the big guys! (since there don't seem to be any forensic psychology jobs out there at the moment)

Your turn :D
(sorry if there's one of these out there, not seen anything though)

Mine are:

Horsey:

1) To get Dibble working again and find him a suitable loaner as he's not going to make the jumping horse I want.
2) To finally break the shetland to ride and drive.
3) To keep working with the nervous exmoor and hopefully take another step in progress.
4) Most important one this! To finally find me a suitable horse before I lose the plot. All I want is a nice, safe little horse that I can enjoy.

None horsey:

1) To make the most of 2011. My plan is to do at least one thing once a month that I can afford. I said when I moved to Somerset I was going to do all the things that I didnt do while living in Wales, but I have been here just over 3 years and have done almost sweet FA.
2) To finally stop being a lard ass. I have lost nearly 3 stone in weight so far this year and want to reach my goal of being a size 12 withing the first 3 months of 2011. I dont have much further to go.. I'm a 14 going down to a 12 and if I can loose another 1/2 to 3/4 stone I will be one happy chick.

Horsey:
*To get handy out to some shows this year.
*To do a prelim dressage test without getting lost!
*To take him to the beach for a good gallop!
*To attempt jumpcross.

Non horsey:
*To pass my driving test
* To decide what I want to do (career wise)
*To make the most of 2011.

Horsey:
- Think more about what Dante would like to do rather than just schooling every day, like I'd be quite happy with :o Lots of hacking/galloping/jumping (when I get a jump saddle again!)
- Get some more classical dressage lessons and sort out my lateral work first then other stuff, would love to do a canter pirouette before next winter, obviously not on Dan though!
- Pass at least one BHS Exam

Non horsey:
- Also pass my driving test :D
- Be more focused/organised so I can make the most of time rather than constantly procrastinating!
- Relax more often!!

Hi Scottie, where abouts in Leeds are you? I am also in Leeds and may be able to give you some livery yard contacts. What horses do you have?

Hi Chilaili
we are in rothwell, and have 2 cob mares ,and are looking for a yard in the cookridge area. must have 24/7 turnout

i know cookridge very well i have my horses nearby. are you wanting 24/7 turnout in winter too? most yards around here only offer it in the summer months. I am extremely lucky and have mine at home.

Livery yards to try with turnout all year round (in on a night)

Kingslea stables on Smithy Lane near the cricket pitch this is probably the biggest yards in cookridge with around 20 horses on. cant locate a number but you want to ask for vicky williams who manages it.

Nickys is next door which is a much smaller affair.

then in horsforth there are loads... Moss House Farm, Scotland Lane run by Jack.

North Ives Farm, Brownberrie Lane, run by the Jackson family (Liz)

Owlett Farm run by Janice Totty located on Scotland Lane.

Lantwood stables also on scotland lane managed by Mike Jarmin

Finally, Carlton boarding kennels and livery stables, located at Carlton run and owned by Stephen

Good luck!
