Does anyone live in New Zealand and can give me a rough idea of property prices? I know location will make this vary greatly, but rough ideas for various locations would be good. House 3-4 beds and 5-10 acres.

Considering the move, but salary for my profession is less than in the uk so property prices would need to reflect that to make it viable. My profession is on tier 1 of the green list so we’d get a straight to residency visa. We fell in love with the country a few years ago and would love to make the dream a reality.

Open to either. Only been to the north, but I guess we can get more for our money in the south. I can do my job anywhere

Your best bet is to look on some of the websites.
www.trademe.co.nz is probably the easiest. What you are looking for comes under lifestyle with dwelling. for your search.
Property varies massively, for example anything near Auckland is seriously horrendous, also be aware of some that are priced low they may well be in the middle of nowhere. Feel free to message me I can probably give you heaps more information. It is much easier to buy a place here and set it up for horses. No permission is required to put in an arena etc. Sheds are easily available and pretty straightforward with the council and are easily converted to stables. Much less red tape than the UK thank goodness. So don't be put off by something that is not specified as equestrain. My place was used for rearing calves but the sheds lent themselves nicely to conversion to stables and tack room. Just waiting on an my arena being built.
The cost of living here is high nowadays, and property is like the UK unaffordable for young people starting out.

I thought there was a ban on foreigners buying property in NZ - or is your profession exempt?
You can with a residence approved Visa, my brother and SIL had to get consent (which they did after 5 months of staying in rented accom), both had jobs to go to on arrival. They have a lovely property on the outskirts of windy Welly.

That is correct, I lived here on a permanent residence Visa for 15 years before I bothered to go and get citizenship.

You can definitely get more for your money in the South Island, particularly in Canterbury. It's super horsey down here. I'm a North Island transplant and shifted down about 10 years ago, I live about an hour out of Chch and commute in to work. Prices skyrocketed post Covid but have settled a bit with the cost of living crisis. Weather can be uhh changeable in Canterbury - truly spectacular swings, but very dry, especially this year.

The price is going to vary considerably depending on location, and if an old house vs new build. You will probably get more for your money in South Island.
I just moved back to the UK from Wellington. We were renting but would never would have been able to afford a house there sadly.

When did you last go to NZ? Cost of food is considerably higher since covid.
