Hi everyone

Thought I should introduce myself having just joined this forum. I started riding 8 months ago after an off the cuff comment to my OH " I'll have a go " and that was it, I soon was riding her mare as often as I could. Ther are a couple of girls in the yard who have to exercise 2 horses, that was great for me as I was able to ride other horses as well.

After considering a loan horse which seemed full of problems, I bought my own. I have always been an animal lover and it was a very carefull decision, as in this is long term just like any other pet.

I have a lesson every week and have done 3 sponsored rides so far. I'll put a couple of pics on here .............please be gentle I have a lot to learn

Welcome Kevin!! Another man, good, good - very under represented on here

What a lovely horse you have - do tell us a bit more about him and the kind of things you are doing/planning

Wow! You jump bigger things than I do - I'm a real coward

Now Kevin, I can see that you are going to be one of those depressing men, who, after riding for a year is out eventing aren't you? lol.
That's one heck of a nice horse, you really look great together.

Is that a Cleveland bay cross - very lovely. Jumping cross country already, what excellent progress. Learning as an adult is much harder, these ladies who have enjoyed pony club etc will never know our pain!

Welcome! Gorgeous horse, you look great together. Looking at the jumping picture I can't believe you have been riding such short time!

Gorgeous horse!

Ooops, sorry, Hello! *waves gently as bounced on head a couple of weeks ago and have found that a bleed on the brain is not conducive to leaping wildly about*.

Hope you have fun here. A good bunch with often differing ideas and opinions, but always with the love the of horse at the centre of things

.

The support is incredible. Through the highs and lows HHO will be there to support and cheer as the situation requires

Have a hot choccy and say good bye to your Real Life - you won't have time for it now

Welcome Kev, that cross country fence wasn't on one of the sponsored rides surely

I take my hat off to you, I've been riding (hacking) for 4 years since coming back into it after 20 years

8 months and you're jumping that super looking horse ... well done you.

I have only had close contact with 2 males riders

and both of them were of the "can I go faster", "can I go higher" club ...... are you one of those men??

hi and welcome, as i said in the pics bit - what a stunner of a horse you have...am now very jealous!!
What breed is he? I reckon part Cleveland bay...just he has slight signs of one...if so I am very very very jealous!!

Your doing very well together and hope it continues..

Thanks for the warm welcome, my boy is called " Caffrey " and he is 17.1hh on a short day

ID x ISH with 11yrs under his belt. So far he has no vices at all, which is such a confidence booster for me.

My lessons are coming on well and am lucky to have a really good teacher local to me. Going to do a novice dressage test in a few weeks time

which will be a huge learning curve I am sure. Look forward to lots of advice on here from you folks.
