Newbie foal question

In the paddock my foal can reach the water trough but not the water in the stable.
At present she only comes in for the odd hour, but when she starts coming in at night, at what age does a foal need access to water overnight? Ie stop being 100% reliant on getting moisture just from milk?

I’d have a handless trug on the floor. With mine it was under the water bucket so it didn’t get pooed in too often.

They should always be able to reach the water, right from birth
