Newbie to showing, any advice? Please :-)

Anybody on here that knows the ins and outs of showing mini shetlands?
Do they need to be registered with anybody? Even for local shows?
Are they shown in bridles or headcollars?
Hoping to just have some fun but any tips or info much appreciated

my friend shows hers in in hand brown bridles with tiny rubber bits local shows they don't have to be registered unless you do registered breed/native classes but often they will have unregistered native classes anyway, you can still enter age or coloured classes local without them being registered, if you want to do Shetland shows they have to be registered as shetlands I would think unless again if they run classes for unregistered.

There is someone on here that shows her shetlands I am sure she will be along soon she may well know more.
