I would like to join a RC. Having been on the BHS website the closest one to me is in South Staffordshire. We are right on the Cheshire border, close to Crewe, so South Staffs is somewhat of a trek for us.

Anyone in my locality know of a low-key RC looking for an equally low-key member?

My geography is rubbish (I fall asleep my mumu drives!) but is Ribble Valley near you? That was always a nice show.

You're Geography is worse than mine!

That's Lancashire. About 80 miles from us.

Nothing on the BHS website Pat at all. I know there has to be some small riding clubs around here as it's such a huge horsey area.

Smallwood....I bet they do one. I have now found Trentham and District and emailed them to see what they offer in the way of training rallies and I have a friend who is considering joining South Cheshire RC. Will try and search for Nantwich as that would likely still be the closest, unless Alsager and Sandbach have one.....which may even be tagged to Smallwood come to think of it.

All in all, it's a positive step! I think I might get alot out of it, if I were to join one.

A few years ago my daughter used to go to shows at Alsager EC and there were always lots of people there from Caverswall R.C., which I think is quite local. Otherwise would agree about Nantwich.

Arrr Caverswall! I forgot about them. Hannah went to a show run by them last summer.

Depending on where Nantwich meet, they would still be alot closer to us. We're right on the Cheshire border and much closer to Balterley/Betley area than we are anywhere in Stoke on Trent (even though Stoke on Trent is our postal address).

Nantwich holds mets fairly often around us C. Have a few friends who are members. If you fancy seeing what the people are like ect. before joining though C they have a open show next weekend. PM me if you'd like me to get details on it for you

L, that would be fabulous!

I just want to find one that has something for all levels (namely numpty level where I'm at). Training days for flatwork and jumping that are very basic to begin with. No point in me joining somewhere that only offers something for more capable riders.

I'm thinking of jump training to begin very low indeed...1ft 6 etc. I've never done a course away from home on P so would hate to be overfaced initially....especially as I'll be nervous to be riding in front of people. I always end up stiff and looking worse than I am in reality.

You see, that's not really what I'm looking for. It's just show schedule.

I want to find a RC that is like PC for adults. One that holds regular rallies like PC does for flatwork/jumping tuition etc. Some even do a summer camp, like PC does!

I don't want to enter a show as I'm not competitive. I just want to further my education with Patches.

Does that make sense? Are there RC's out there that are more than just monthly show classes for all and sundry?

i understand what your looking for, but i dont think locally there are or atleast im not aware of. sorry i couldnt of been of anymore help C but if you do happen to find one please PM me details on it, as i am still unless at anything that involves riding

There's South Cheshire RC. They meet at Alsager Equestrian Centre over winter....not sure where they meet in summer. Might be too advanced for me though. I just noticed that they're having Bill Levett do the jumping programme at this year's camp. I can't imagine he'd want to teach people to jump little clear round fences.

I don't know if it would be what you are looking for but Reaseheath have started a Riding Club, I know they have flat work and jumping clinics. Try the midland assoc of riding clubs website, www.midarc.co.uk, they seem to have some member clubs that are in Staffs.

Lauren, I just found out the flatwork training is at Pear Tree Lakes!!! How cool is that? Literally 20 minutes hack from me or five mins in the trailer.

Fabulous!

thank you claire will have a look at it now
