Hello, I just wondered if anyone could hazard a guess at what breed my mare is crossed with? just for a bit of fun.
I've had her 10years and all I really know is that she is half Newforest. My friend has a full Newforest and apart from the crazy mane I don't see much resemblance! She is 14hh. She's a forward going excitable sort and when she was younger she used to be thin and hard to keep weight on but is 19 now and has filled out more. Here are some pics and a video as well if helps :)

I may be well off the mark here, but could she be crossed with TB? She looks quick fine and gangly in comparison to my NF (my first pony who taught me to stick to the saddle like glue :D :p)

She just looks like a forester to me. One of the speed demon colt-hunter type. I take on board that she's 19, but a lot of NF ponies can only be registered as part breds because one of the parents (usually the dam) is not able to be registered as a full-bred NF pony. Many times because their owners did not send the right paperwork back in time. To all extents and purposes they are "full" foresters, whose predecessors have run out on the forest for generations. Or perhaps she was not "foal recorded" not exactly sure what that means, but in the days before passports, the ponies had to be recorded at the Breed Society as foals, and then their registration papers could be applied for at any time in the future by their then owner (if they wanted to).

Interesting to get other people's take on her cross :) tb would probably be my guess as well although who knows! All the pure Newforests Ive seen have some feather as well and she doesn't have any, which Ive always thought was a bit strange, oh well love her :P
