Just a quick question do you ride your youngsters (4/5 yr olds) newly backed in any gadgets to teach them the way of going or not use anything im about to have my 4yr old broken in and wanted to know what people did. Thankyou

Get them comfortable with being ridden and used to aids before adding any gadgets

The whole point of a youngster is to do the job properly from day one, so no gadgets.

The only gadget I use on a youngster is a neck strap!

i only plan to use a breastplate to hold on to. how do people showing 4 year olds get them looking like they do on the bit perfectly?

Training LOL it's not quite as simple as that but in essense that all it is training.

I would reccommend regular lessons on the flat with a really good dressage trainer and lots of hacking.
