Hi all,

I've read when starting out barefoot circles should not be ridden. Can someone explain please as I'm curious and it doesn't say in the book.

Marley is now 4 weeks I think barefoot possibly 5. I was told not to ride until next trimmed but to walk in hand. However he was walking so well with boots and pads I decided to give it a try laSt weekend. He has been great and sound to the point I let him start trotting. He has been fine on the corners of the school.

Today as a test to see if he could cope without boots after walking in hand the other day without I have ridden without them. He seems ok. Not quite striding out as much although someone commented that he was even though I hadn't said anything to them. I let him have trot and he seems ok on the straight but not on the corners. After what I'd read I was curious to know the reason.

Is it too soon to be riding without boots? And letting him have a trot?

Thanks ☺
