Has anyone been to NEH lately and left their horse overnight ? Ive got to leave one of ours there for a week and was just wondering what the livery part is likely to be ? I "think" it used to be £25 a night ??

My vets charged me £40 night last week!

My horse was there for a month last year & it was approx £30 per night.

Just chased them up again (why is it no one ever returns calls ??) and its £40 per night PLUS VAT= £48 a night for B&B. *drops jaw*

I am not surprised. AHT is similarly priced. Its a lot when you are fully or partly paying the bill.

I think it's time these horspitals were reported to the livery ombudsman - I mean, get real, £40 + for a box with no TV, remote, computer, central heating, bar, chocolates, grapes or even a bloody bell to ring when you want the loo!!!

But they are amazing vets and were up all through the night, 24 hours for the whole month picking up each poo as my horse done it so he didn't get his cast dirty!! You'd have to pay me more than that!!

Police horses get this service and I don't recall the grooms getting paid enough to warrant Hilton prices.

Most places will break it down into nursing costs/hotel costs as insurers will normally pay the nursing costs but not the "hotel" costs.

In the case of the NEH, the £48 IS just livery... and does not include nursing costs which are extra.
