Thank-you thank-you to the organisers, stewards and other volunteers who gave up their day, and to the Jockey Club and racing/training community around Newmarket who allow us pet-owning plebs onto their hallowed gallops and most gorgeous turf and brilliant all-weather gallop once a year for a pleasure ride to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer.
I've done this ride about 5-years running now and it is always absolutely fantastic. The organisation is brilliant, the choice of mileage (8, 15 or 20) caters for all ages and fitnesses. The going is just absolutely superb and the spectacular setting of Newmarket with its various training yards tucked away in the back streets is wonderful.
