I wouldnt of said it was that 'mad'! Me and my friend took the "walk trot" only route which only lasts a little way but tries to settle your horse. Then we gave them a good gallop up the slope to use up some energy (didnt work!) and then the paths are wide enough for you to walk and other people to trot past without causing major upset.

If you do either of the longer routes theres quite a long section on concrete leading you over to the gallops, so thats a good place for all horses to chill out. Then you can let them go on the gallops

I'm going, a bit nervous as T is a nutter but have always wanted to ride up Warren Hill and as I no longer ride out racehorses then this is the only way! I'm sure it is not that bad. I've been on plenty of sponsored rides where people really do not have any control over their horses.

Used to do it for many years but haven't done it for a few now, but absolutely brilliant - and no, it's not mad at all. You get the odd idiot who wants to gallop past, but use your voice to let them know!!!

Different routes and distances now but if you only do one sponsored ride a year - this is the one.

If anyone is travelling a long distance for the ride and is looking for stabling for overnight (or even a few nights), you're welcome to PM us as we have a few spare stables left. We're situated just 8 miles from the racecourse.
