Actually the Animal Health Trust is something totally separate, nothing to do with either of the vets listed. My chap has had surgery at both and would be very happy to send him back to either!

Well luckily I haven't had to have much use of either but my horse has recently had a 5 day stay at Rossdales due to a septic joint from Blackthorn and I have to say I was very very impressed with them and their care and attention was second to none and I am pleased to say he is now back at home and recovering well, so a big thumbs up to them and they have been fantastic about me paying a rather large vets bill.

They have a good rep at spending your full insurance allowance and testing things that are nothing to do with the injury itself. They are also very good if you don't question anything.

I have always liked and trusted Greenwood Ellis, they are very down to earth and not only do they have the horses best interests at heart but the owners too. I cannot say that about the other and I have had horses in both hospitals.

I agree - I did not have a good experience at Rossdales, and as I said to one of their vets, I would shoot my horse myself before I brought it back to them.

If you want a vet who is trying to chat up his blonde vet student when he is supposed to be conducting a full lameness work up (he was supposed to be watching the horse being trotted up at the time) then Rossdales will suit you amply.

Rossdales were excellent with 2 of my horses. Their work up was actually more reasonable than my own vet and the service was top class as well as the amount of time and trouble they spent explaining the dagnosis and after care. Top vets in my book!
