The trainer from our local animal shelter emailed me last night with some rather exciting news! They just got in a pregnant female dachshund; she was taken from a "backyard breeding" situation and is due to give birth any day now. Please keep your fingers and paws crossed that the birth goes swimmingly. If there is a boy among the litter, we'll put in an application to bring "Stanley" into our household

Momma dachshund is a 9lb smooth red, and dad is a 10lb smooth dapple.
 
Why don't you give a home to the pregnant dachshund aswell, sounds like she's been though a tough time

Our YO has got a couple of daxis one of which is a rescue, they are fab little dogs.

I'm sure you'll have a great time. But how are you going to be able to wait until he is ready to come home?

If we had more room, I definitely would. Good thing about this shelter is that dogs get adopted very quickly, especially the little ones.

Alas, it's less a case of which county than it is which country i.e I live in New York City. I could always post one on the sly, I guess
