I have noticed this three or four times now on news channels online describing flood situations.

Just because they are black and white, does not mean they are cows!

Some people just aren't horsey ;) some don't even want to be  :)
and to be honest, if you have a mixed bunch of cattle and coloured horses, at a glance they do kind of look alike except to the cognoscenti.:)

I have one that would get lost in a herd of Herefords :)

Spanisheyes, loving the cows in rugs comment :)

I was at a yard where one of the other liveries didn't want my boy in the field next to her thoroughbred mares as they didn't like cows and they might mistake my piebald cob for a cow!

Can't post what I said in reply!

Well to be quite fair here, with my last beloved horse, we often rode through fields of cows/calves - and the cows thought he was "mummy". Literally

But we both thought it was great fun, especially going for for a full on cattle charge - fantastic !

Just shows how few people know anything about animals at all....

Since when do cows have manes...?

:D I read that as names at first!:o

;)But how are those not in the know to know that? They probably think that this is a sort of cow...(antelope actually)

Aha! I have spotted the problem!!!

If only cows were allowed to keep their horns... there would be no mistaking them then.....

Two horns = cow

One horn = broken cow

Well whenever I ride my mare through fields of cows they all form an orderly queue and follow her, with the leader sticking it's nose up her bottom. She likes the attention. I was riding through a field once wondering where the cows were that I knew were in said field, turned around and we had a lovely line of cows following us :D Pooface hadn't even acknowledged them.
But not all cows are coloured... Maybe those places I think are tb studs are actually beef farms
