It's a tragedy for him, his family - and the female population!

New York police said they did not suspect foul play and that his body had been discovered with prescription pills nearby.
 
My best friends husband died naked and head down and that was an accident. If he was struggling from his sleep to get help he would be straggling around the floor,i know i would and i wouldn't of had enough time to get my clothes on too!

In bed, covered with a sheet - like many people sleep.

He was apparently seen asleep in bed (snoring) by his housekeeper earlier in the morning so I would imagine the assumption is he was either already unconscious at that point or died without really waking.

There is also the suggestion he had some sort of minor respiratory illness and there is a known link between sleeping pill use and compromised breathing so possibly a combination of factors there.

Insomnia seems like a joke but to people who have it it can be maddening. It's quite common for people to take a pill or two, not find immediate respite, then take another in sleep deprived panic. By the time the first kicks in their working on an overdose. Add a drink - a common "home remedy" for insomniacs - and it's a recipe for disaster. There is also a suggestion he'd been depressed - a circumstance not known to promote good judgement.

How awful for him and the people who loved him, especially his daughter. All evidence seems to suggest a mistake with tragic consequences.
