As predicted my Aussie Allrounder doesn't fit my new horse along with the rest of my Amigo rugs and the next size up comes up too big ;(. His bum hangs out and neck only comes half way down! 6'3 fit in other makes but not Amigo it seems! I don't know if just to go for a 6'6 and not worry if it's a little big (if I can find one) as it's just a fly rug or go for something else? Any recommendations?

I have a summer series and love it, it’s really useful.
My horse varies between is in a 6’9 which is about usual.
He’d find it too warm for hot days though, I do just use it on cooler days or when rain is forcast

Is it warmer than the Aussie? I've managed to keep that on my horses all summer and they haven't got too hot in it so just wondering how this one compares

Has anyone used the Swish fly rugs? I have a Swish turnout and very impressed with it and fits my boy well.

The summer series waterproof topped one is yes. My horses would sweat in any waterproof topped fly sheet in warmer weather. Other horse has a PE one and that would be the same. Just the fabric can't be as breathable as as cotton or mesh sheets.

Mine found the summer series too hot in the proper summer weather but he is fine in his Aussie allrounder. My boy is very sensitive to flies and mesh rugs don't work. If for some reason he isn't wearing his aussie allrounder (its being washed) I put him out in a cotton summer sheet (premier equine) which works just as well.

I like the Kool coats Airstream which have mesh on the lower sides

Premier Equine used to do a fantastic combo sheet in a light checked fabric but I think they are navy and red now so maybe too dark for hot weather

the very best one I had was a Comfort zone combo in a brilliant light material, all of my ponies had one but I have never ever seen another either advertised or on anyone else's horse - They were the best sheets ever

The Amigo Rip-Stop hoody is great. I use them on my mare who suffers with mild sweet-itch, so she doesn't need the belly flap that the OG Aussie had, but she does need the hoody component.

I've just got the horseware amigo camofly and am really pleased with it. It's got two layers of fabric (both light so not worried about overheating) in most places so is a bit more hardy and effective than a normal net one. The stomach flap is really good, covers a lot and isn't flappy and the rug covers a lot of their legs too. I'm interested to see if the pattern helps with the horseflies later in the year but so far with the midges it's a success.

I have the summer series, aussie and kool coat airstream.

I found the material on the kool coat to be a tad thicker and stiffer than the aussie even after a few washes but surprisingly, was actually relatively normal temperature underneath, perhaps a tiny bit warmer than the aussie but it does have the mesh sides.

The summer series is an odd one, sometimes my horse has felt warmer under the top panel but sometimes it's felt quite cool! It's softshell I think so not like normal turnout fabric.

We have the swish nylon fly rug and the waterproof fly rug. Both fit beautifully and seem very good quality rugs, the rip stop material is great and tough!
