I had a pair of these boots for about 8 years until last year when it was time to get a new pair. Within a year they started leaking round by the toes so as they were under warranty I got an exchange and within 2 months the new pair are doing exactly the same. I don't muck out in them but I do ride in them.

They dont seem to be made like they used too but are sooo comfortable and I'm reluctant to get another pair but didn't know if anyone else has had issues with these or if there are any other boots you'd recommend for around the yard. I do love Ariats - they are like slippers!
 
I share your pain. My first pair lasted YEARS. The pair I bought to replace them are slightly different, you can't get the "old" sort now. Different and inferior.
 
I'm absolutely with you - I love my Ariats.

I recently decided to try some of those Bareback boots but oh my they didn't suit my feet at all. They were really long and narrow and very uncomfortable. Customer service was excellent and I returned the boots FOC and got an immediate refund. Now unwilling to stray from the Ariat path though
 
I’m having the same problem with the Wythburn boots. I love that you can lace them up tight so no hay drops into them but the quality is lacking and they leak.

Dammit I was thinking of going for these to replace a pair of Ariat Harper boots that have started leaking. Thankfully just under the year warranty and the retailer has agreed to take them back.

I had Bareback boots before and they were comfy but the stitching fell apart and they hadn't been as waterproof as advertised/hoped.

I'm not sure these ones I'm looking at now would hold up for yard work, probably nothing too hardcore and definitely not for riding, but they look like they could do the job for dog walking https://lanxshoes.com/collections/womens-365-collection?filter.v.availability=1 I think when I need yard boots again I'll just have another pair for that job instead of trying to get a pair that in theory would do all the jobs I need them too!

In the end the Harper's weren't even holding up to walking across dewy grass so anything over that is a plus right now!

I found the insulated ones lasted me a year, the none insulated ones 6 months over winter.
They are on offer on Ariats website atm so it’s whether you want to spend £100 to replace in a year. I will say mine got a hammering, worn daily for yard work and walking the dog in very wet conditions so maybe I’m doing them a disservice. But they aren’t cheap

The Harper's I had didn't particularly get a hammering which is part of what's putting me off other Ariat's - I wouldn't have minded as much if they'd worked hard for me and been beaten up but they still look fine it's just the leaking makes them useless in any level of wet weather. I did a small amount of yard work in them for a few months - which didn't include muddy fields or much mucking out and was a couple of days a week at most, and my dog is a bit precious about getting wet and muddy so they didn't do much there either!
 
I didn't use the zip H2Os, but the lace ones, and made the move to Mountain Horse. I muck out, catch in the mud, walk dogs, and ride in them putting an average of 15km/day on them excluding the riding. My last pair lasted two years, which is pretty good for the turmoil I put boots through! They also do a fluffy lined winter pair which I can confirm are very toasty, probably more so if I invest in woolen insoles!
 
It’s such a shame when this happens. My latest Ariats. Bought in the summer already leak! So comfy but spend half their life drying out! I have no answer only disappointment!
 
I was very disappointed in the quality of bareback boots - I bought my daughter a pair of short zip up ones earlier this year and they didn’t even last four months before the stitching went. She wears them pretty much all day every day but I expected them to last a bit longer as they weren’t cheap …
 
I had insulated Wythburns, bought about 4 years ago and lasted 2 years. This year got the non insulated version and they're already cracking. I do turnout in clay and it has been very wet here but I've only had them 3 months, I think I'm going back to Mountain Horse with insoles in for extra comfort.
 
I live in my lace up tellurides but they don’t seem to last more than 10 months but I do wear them to death, even the tread wears out on soles. The current price though is extortionate. I bought some Terrains when I was in the states this year as a lot cheaper but there are some seams on the heels area that can be troublesome.

I’ve been scanning for alternatives but keep going back to them. I’m also looking at non horse market walking style boots as an alternative.
