Next doors dog

Lev, sorry I did phrase that badly, by undisclosed I meant unknown. Im not suggesting they deliberately rehomed a dog with a known problem, more that nothing was disclosed because they hadnt done any rehab work or taken the time to get to know the dog. You are right though, both of those breeds require a more experienced home, Ive had dogs for almost 50 years and I would find a Patterdale challenging without a proper job for it to do, Ive had a staffie before who was a delight, but again, the bull breeds do require a fairly knowledgeable owner, in part due to the ignorance of others :( To be fair, all dogs deserve an owner who understands their breed traits and needs but we all have to learn somewhere, however taking on a rescue (and the pound dogs never come with any history so you have nothing to base anything on) I think is for the more experienced

I agree totally 😊 I think my eyes have really been opened by taking on a pound dog rather than one through a rescue charity - it seems like you are doing the same thing but actually it’s far from it, the pound just don’t have the time or resources to understand the dogs properly before they are re-homed and you don’t get a proper picture of what you are taking on. Nobody prepared me for mad Millie lurcher 🙄😄😄

Was it a charity in the UK or a foreign one? Ive heard quite a lot of foreign charities arent that particular in their rehoming criteria and some of the dogs wouldn't be the easiest even in an experienced home.
