Ok so trailer is sold and now we are transportless and I have spent all day trawling the adverts till I am bleary eyed and still haven't a clue what to do!
Situation is: Little orange horse doesn't like travelling in ifor anymore since being on loan, managed with full width bar but wanted to do something better. Now, is better in the form of a wagon or a rear facing trailer (like gold dust and don't want an equitrek). Here in lies the problem I guess as there are so many things I don't want LOL!
Was fairly sold on a 3.5t, only generally transport the one horse so should be ok payload wise but then it occurred to me there is nowhere for the dogs to travel unless we put them right in the back(not keen).
Next problem don't want to spend towards £20K as lovely daughter off to Uni next Sept and said vehicle will be stood doing nowt but depreciating fast.
So does anyone (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE) have the solution for me before I go completely bonkers!

How many dogs? How big - can they not sit on the floor at the passengers feet if the journeys aren't too long? this is me presuming its one of the van type ones your looking at? What about a travel cage in the grooms area?

Dogs are wire haired pointers, 2 of them plus 3 adults won't fit in the cab!
Looking at the type with side ramp and grooms area at back (not the little van type) but most of them have no connection from the cab to the back and I don't want to shut the dogs out on their own. A cage is under consideration but I still don't feel 100% with it.
What I really want is a small living with cut through to cab and horse area at back but rear facing or herringbone without it all being too big and too expensive.
SORN is ok but we will need occasional use when she's away and if we pay a lot for it it will be devaluing too quick while not even getting used which seems a bit daft. I guess we could sell it again in a year and go back to a trailer set up??

Anyone know of any nice, smallish wagons as described?

Hmmmm, that's a tricky one - cab and dogs defo out - might be a bit of a long hunt unfortunately

How regularly do you use it?
If it's only going to have a years use and then as you said sit and depreciate would it be worth hiring one when needed for the time being?

hire as and when req? do your costings re insurance plating etc. i got a lovely 3.5 t takes 2 forward facing but space between cab and horses to take clobber and dogs. lambourne coach built. very low milage, t and t. would sell, looking for 9.5k ono

Problem with hiring is it's no good for short notice trips, if we needed to get to the vet or even if we just decide to poddle off round the local XC, go with the hunt or whatever.
Also I don't think there is anyone very near so would have to factor in travelling time and diesel to pick up.
It gets used probably every other weekend and maybe during the week occasionally but once she goes to Uni will only be very occasional when she's home or if we need to do anything with babies/old mare.
PMd you ofcourseyoucan but don't think we can do forward facing
