Its renewal time and homebase having hiked the premium by more than 50% despite no claims I'm looking at other options. I also previously only had one dog covered, I now am in a position I need all 4 covered, trickier task than I thought. So who uses NFU for multiple dogs and what are you paying? My broker is ringing me monday.

I'm with nfu but only for 2 dogs. Don't think I get a discount for 2, but they do give you discounts the longer you stay with them. Costs me £56 a month by direct debit for the 2 with £4000 vets fees lifetime cover with a £60 excess. No idea how this compares to other companies as I'm useless at swapping insurance- I just let it renew automatically.
They've been very good at paying out when I've needed to claim, and were lovely on the phone when i was blubbing down the line after having had a dog die.

I had Herman insured with NFU and will get a quote from them for Otto when his breeder set up Pet Plan runs out. OK its only one dog, but I find if you speak to your local office (as you are) they can sort something better for you.

Herman had several big claims paid - they did increase his excess but not extortionately. I paid £60pcm for him and 2 cats. When he (very, very, very unexpectedly) had to be pts they were lovely on the phone and everything (vet, cremation, me) paid for within 2 weeks. Vets v impressed with speed, efficiency and the fact they paid for his cremation as well - apparently not many will.

Best friend is with Pet Plan and has had no end of arguments with them over claims and pay outs - I think I paid marginally more (although she has 3 dogs, so presumably had some sort of discount) per month but has been worth it for non hassle pay outs.

I find the NFU very good. I do pay about £50 month for 1 dog but do have 3 ongoing claims with them. They have never quarried anything I have asked.

I pay £142 a month for 3 horses and 2 dogs. Just about to add the pup to the insurance so will see what it will be.

So in all I pay just under £200 for 3 horses and 3 dogs.

They also pay out quickly.
