I know these things wind people up BUT this video is incredible - as in, I cannot believe people think this is a credible way to train horses:

May I be the first to say WTF? Why can't they see that their horses are totally disinterested and in fact bored to the point where they bite their owners and each other just so they have something to do! I have no problem with people doing what they want as long as it's humane and the horse is treated well it but it's a wonder these horses haven't keeled over through pure boredom!

I actually found this video funny but I suppose I just don't get what they're trying to achive.

Ah well, PF, if you were a follower if NH (according to the comments) you would know that she should have wiggled her leg at the attempt to bite, lol! If she was a follower of CSH (Common Sense Horsemanship) she would know not to bore her horse to the point where it feels the need to bite to try and stop the silliness!

But I have no idea why she wacked it!

I just do not know what to say, I have never laughed at something so much.
I dont think the horses appreciated their owners grinding on them.... but I'm sure it definitley helped them gain a greater understanding of eachother....

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

It's a bloody insult to the horse!

LOL - very strange human behaviour and funniest thing was the cowboy in the background never moved once - must have been bored rigid rather like the horses

thats going to make me laugh allday,im going to stand next to earl later and wiggle my hips and see what he thinks !!!!!!

he will think i have finaly lost the plot, laugh and walk away from me

The girl landing on her arse made me howl! I don't know much about Parelli (by choice) but I am pretty sure that Mr Parelli himself would bow his head with shame having his name associated with that farce!

My god, do people actually pay good money to be taught this kind of thing?

I could go up to my horse in the field right now and dance around her for free knowing she wouldn't bat an eyelid, although the men in white coats may well come and get me.

i gave up after 10 seconds. still, if the worst is that the horses are bored witless and the owners have a nice time skipping around, it's still a million times better than those who are too physical with horses, think that beating the ***p out of them is the answer to putting a foot wrong, etc. or those who strap them down with gadgets and force them to do things, etc etc.

as long as it's harmless, i don't mind it. some of it is actually useful, honestly.
the FHOTD commentary on it the other day though, on the "horse is trying to bite you, so feed it a carrot" school of NH, was absolutely spot-on, if hysterically funny.
