I treated myself to some jods last week, now because its getting close to Christmas I couldn't exactly go mad and splash out, I looked lovingly over at the Pikeur collection and that's when depression set in, but then thought about the price which made me feel better, I simply refuse to pay near on £100 for some breaches, I just will not do it, I have two mouths to feed now.

So I drifted back over to cheapo rail (secretly wishing I could still fit into maids/children's sizes)

but its just not possible anymore (perhaps 2 whisper bars per day has something to do with it..who knows

), but once you hit 30 you tend to get that middle spread thing going on, anyway after sifting though the price tags and flicking through the rails ''nope....nope'...hmm not bad...WHAT the f*ck and their not even Pikeurs! (I think said that bit out loud too)... no... no ....oooh yes' then decided to actually look at the pair with price friendly tag, Hydrophane? didn't even know they made jods, nice colour, nice material, anyway for £20.00 I thought I'd try them on, give them go, thinking they would be rubbish fit, but wow I was really pleasantly surprised, there high waist so they keep your back warm and you can tuck your cloths in and there quite flattering too, just a same they don't make them in different colour combinations as there in that chequered pattern.

Anyway you know me, if I find something I really like, I tend to bore you all with it but if your after some nice cheap jods, there really nice for the price and they have the little elastic stirrupy things in the bottom so they don't ruffle up your legs when sliding your boots, there called HY Ladies Rio Jods 95% cotten and 5% spandex in a regular length (just right if your around 5'6).

I was a Barbour jods addict - at £100 a pop it's a good job they don't make them any more. At 5ft 6 with a bit of 30-something spread, I like Toggi Isis - they're a bit more at £50 but last well, are quite flattering (am I deluding myself) and much cheaper than the posh ones!

I got some fab jods beginning of the year in the sale (online) think they were 9 quid....so mum, sis and i all bought about 3 pairs in different colours! they are fantastic and still going strong!! trying desperately to think who made them......

Ive just got some Treadstone ones from Throstle Nest Saddlery for £14.95. Thick warm ones with a zip pocket for my phone, they are absolutely fabulous. Cant afford £49.50 for the Caldene Belgrades anymore and after buying these, wont want to!

I quite like the Decathlon own brand ones.
Feel nice,fit well,wear well and cost £16- £20 a pair-sorted

Think it's nice to have a posh pair for shows and things, but cant see the point of paying for a brand name for day to day stuff.
