my mother has given me some money for christmas and said i have to buy something that i will look nice in....apparently pikeur breeches are not allowed...neither is more tescos tracky bums or fleeces.... :o

it has to be smart casual....

now its been a while *cough* years *cough* since i bought some clothes for myself other than in tesco or horsey comp wear as we've spent every penny on doing up the house so i just havent been able to justify nice things for myself (helped by the fact i work from home or at farms so jeans/cowboy boots/tshirt/wool jumper/pashmina is the uniform for me ;) - that also gives you an idea of what i do wear ;))

so - i used to like joules but its a bit.... not so nice now :o
(and £99 for an acrylic cardi  are they taking the pee!)

so please could you give me brand names that i can google for classic, smart casual clothing :D

many thanks

I'm the same. After working with horses for 10 years, I never really went out on the town, and never really wore anything other than jeans or jods!

How about H&M. Very nice quality, and fair price too. Also Next are very good, and even have some equestrian style to them. Equestrian seems to be the in thing at the moment, so you could tell your mum that the horsey clothes ARE in fashion!! :)

I like Tottie for reasonable prices though not sure how smart casual you mean :)

I would have a surf through Rideaway and Robinsons then you might get different items from different brands to go together. Also would look at high street shops like Next and Dot P's as 'country' stuff is quite chic these days :) I see Barbour style jackets etc all the time.

Sorry not being much help am I?

thanks guys :) see i'd not even thought of Next or H&M LOL

suppose the last time i went into either (prob literally about 5 years ago when i last worked in an office) it was all a bit too fashionable for me! but if country style is in vouge then they may well be worth a visit :D

Jack murphey stuff is lovely :). Nice classic country wear that lasts well and is reasonably priced. Also I have a Rydale tweed field jacket that has lasted incredibly well and was very reasonably priced. Or what about a Barbour jacket if wanting a jacket? I have one of their classic country style quilted and its lovely :). Also look at timothy foxx for something different- particularly their ear warmers which are lovely. They are on the more expensive side as a clothing brand though. Few suggestions to trawl through anyway! :D

thank you :D

even if i cant afford everything from everywhere at least i'll get an idea whats out there nowdays LOL

*hides behind a old freebie fleece from stoneleigh park polo club ( that shows the age - it shut down 10+years ago!)and tracky bums from tesco that are sewn up where i caught them climbing over a barbed wire fence about 3yrs ago  :o*
