I've quite a few posts both on here and other forums over the last few months questioning the 'niceness' of the forum. I think in general the forum has become a friendlier place over the last year/eighteen months, but I also think that people forget to take into account the high volume of users, much higher than many other forums.

Like anywhere there are argumentative people, critical people, downright annoying people plus many more, I think it's quite easy to overlook to genuinely nice people. The ones who don't contribute unless they have either a valid point, good advice or genuine concern.

I'm currently moving house, not through choice, my landlord is selling up. I searched high and low, even 'cold calling' random farmers from the phonebook and stopping in at paddocks etc and could find nowhere to put my horses. I advertised them as it seemed the only option. Two HHO'er's immediately offered to help us out, and we now have a paddock for the ponies and a stable for the rescue mare. Both users were both more than happy to make room for my TB, however I actually found him a fantastic loan home where the lovely girl can offer him so much more than I can right now.

I find the generosity of these two users absolutely amazing, to open up their horsey homes to us in our hour of need, and we hope to someday repay the favour.

I would love to name them both, as I think they should have a cyber round of applause, but don't know whether they want that, I'm sure they'll pop by later if they want.

I've also recieved over the past few weeks messages of well wishes to the new mare, great advice and borrowed a cosy rug when the new mare trashed all of hers and started on my boys!

I shall go and finish my jobs now, I just wanted to say, in my long, drawn out roundabout way, that sometimes it's easy to focus on the bitchiness etc and the quiet good deeds can be quickly overlooked.

(I have a dodgy 'D' button, have skimmed over the paragraphs and think I've added them where neccessary, however if a word doesn't make sense, try adding that letter first!)

If you are the penny i think that gave henry a fantastic few months of love when everyone tolf you to give up and nursed a litter of pups that wernt yours then you deserve a medal
This forum is a great place full of very kind people.
hugs

That's such a lovely post! i've been very struck by how willing HHO's are to donate their time, facilities, equipment and sometimes their money to helping others out.

Hi, I was Henrys Mummy for a little while, yes, thankyou for remembering! I also have one of those puppies asleep in my kitchen right now, though he's not so much a puppy now!

bless you for taking the time to thank those wonderful people so publicly.

I don't think any of us take the time to thank people as often as we should, you deserve a round of applause as much as those generous HHOers.

glad you've got everyone settled!

What a lovely thing to post, i love HHO too, there are so many amazing people on here who would go above and beyond for a complete stranger. It restores a little faith in human kind.

Glad everything worked out ok for you in the end. x

This forum is great isn't it! I've had so much good advice off here in the past, and found a fantastic equine dentist, its great for recommendations. I also bought a horse from a fellow HHO member recently, who was lovely too.

aaaaaaaaaaaah lovely story
