I've quite a few posts both on here and other forums over the last few months questioning the 'niceness' of the forum. I think in general the forum has become a friendlier place over the last year/eighteen months, but I also think that people forget to take into account the high volume of users, much higher than many other forums.
Like anywhere there are argumentative people, critical people, downright annoying people plus many more, I think it's quite easy to overlook to genuinely nice people. The ones who don't contribute unless they have either a valid point, good advice or genuine concern.
I'm currently moving house, not through choice, my landlord is selling up. I searched high and low, even 'cold calling' random farmers from the phonebook and stopping in at paddocks etc and could find nowhere to put my horses. I advertised them as it seemed the only option. Two HHO'er's immediately offered to help us out, and we now have a paddock for the ponies and a stable for the rescue mare. Both users were both more than happy to make room for my TB, however I actually found him a fantastic loan home where the lovely girl can offer him so much more than I can right now.
I find the generosity of these two users absolutely amazing, to open up their horsey homes to us in our hour of need, and we hope to someday repay the favour.
I would love to name them both, as I think they should have a cyber round of applause, but don't know whether they want that, I'm sure they'll pop by later if they want.
I've also recieved over the past few weeks messages of well wishes to the new mare, great advice and borrowed a cosy rug when the new mare trashed all of hers and started on my boys!
I shall go and finish my jobs now, I just wanted to say, in my long, drawn out roundabout way, that sometimes it's easy to focus on the bitchiness etc and the quiet good deeds can be quickly overlooked.
*Bows*
(I have a dodgy 'D' button, have skimmed over the paragraphs and think I've added them where neccessary, however if a word doesn't make sense, try adding that letter first!)
