Two months after getting my new boy, he became bargy and aggressive with me, pinning his ears back and biting me badly a couple of times.

Something I've done has obviously worked as he has been lovely to be around these last few days, but now I've got to work out what it was that was upsetting him! I wish they could tell us, it would be so much easier!

Things I have done/changed:

- Stopped grooming him with a brush; just getting him used to me touching him all over with my hands or a very soft fleecey cloth that I had lying around

- Put him on 6 Ranitidine morning and night incase his tummy was upsetting him

- Firm but sympathetic handling

- Walking towards him slowly when he is tied so he doesn't feel threatened

- Started hacking him out so is probably getting more exercise than before

It could be a combination of them all, or it could just be the hot weather and he can't be bothered!

I am going to take him off the Randitine next week, and if his behaviour goes back to how it was before then we know it is ulcers!

At the moment I am just happy to have the nice horse back!

Well done, its nice to hear.
It could be any number of things, or maybe he's just become more settled
Hope he stays the nice horse :)
