Nice jumping horse for the price >>>>

Hummm... I think well written advert and good pic of horse loose schooling a massive jump.. but... He hasn't done any thing and doesn't sound like he's got much ground work experience (also photos in trot are not that of a 4k horse to me given the write up?)

I think I would rather see him jump 1 m with a rider and know more about temperament rather than the fact that he has "movement of a dressage horse, the jump of a SJ and the blood to event"

Unless they are massively restricted - cant see why they wouldnt get him a few double clears and couple of points to be sold with and then ask a little more?

This is what I was thinking as well. Would want to see some jumping with rider photos, but i'd say worth a look if close by.

Here's a thought: in the professional eventer's market, it is essential that a horse be x-rayed. Warm bloods in particular have a tendency to show bone chips in lower cannon/ fetlock area, which can seriously limit their price. With this breeding, this horse ought to go for more. I just wonder if he was previously sold, subject to x-rays and bone chips were found. The effect of these are variable, but the pro riders won't touch a horse with these.

He's lovely and cheap (I have a horse with bone chips which have been removed - if that is the case here - it wouldn't worry me unduly). Not for a novice methinks

Well, the hmmmmm from me stems from the fact that he's only five and pictured jumping giving a foot of air to a high pole - if this was a youngster of mine I'd just be thinking about some serious flatwork after saddling him last year. All in far too much of a hurry.

Having said that, he does stand well in the other photo. I fall in love every week! They are worse than heroine.

I have got a feeling that one of the people behind 'Capitol Stud Farm' is Rikki Gradley - search previous threads on here or Google if you want to know more..

I didnt say he looks sharp Ams:p, but I bet he is why else would a horse with that kind of scope and breeding be so cheap:);)

Haha - of course not wishing to cast nasturtiums about the lovely honest folk who advertise in H&H! But have you ever read that book about the guy who goes to buy a horse for his daughter? He's advertised as being by "Old Sod" - no stallion gets a name like that for nothing! His description goes on to say he was family bred and turned away - this is perfectly true because after being foaled no one could get near him and when they did he was all teeth and feet. He has lovely floating paces - yes, he does, all way above the ground. Surprisingly, the ad also says "lightly hunted" now, this is also true because they did manage to get a saddle on him a few times and someone very brave took him out - unfortunately he bolted, overtook the entire field, the master and the fox - thus subsequently banned from ever coming again.

This then is your shining star! I look at all these ad's and think - I wonder who he's killed?
