Nicest compliment you've received, as a rider?

RI said I'm extremely dedicated, others have said that too, although probably not always in the same light :D

That I'm patient and work well with any horse.... just because I enjoy it.

That I should work full time with horses....wish I could.:(

Have a sticky bum/good seat :D ....I wouldn't say so, I don't think I have a good positition (as in upper body) that's through lack of lessons, staying on is bad situations is self taught! :D

Get a few compliments how well a horse is going/changed/looking after I've been riding/looking after it etc which is nice.

Both of the compliments that have had the most affect on me where kinda lopsided but here goes.

From a very demanding irish horse woman who I have all the time for
"Finally, you can ride"
Not exactly polite but considering my ability when I arrived and when I left I was grinning.

From a RI short on praise generaly
"For gods sake what are you worried about, you maintained excellent control in the field and have a damn good seat, just jump it allready"

:embarassed) I have a silly thing about jumping.

Cavblacks that is such a good compliment! It really means more when its from someone who's been tough on you before (like the YM with me). Hope your poor friend is ok! Oh, and you are forgiven your little ****! :D I think even cr*p is starred!
**** - Yep, it is!

JessandCharlie - Where do you get your Siggie from?!

JunoXV - Hehe :D

LOL! I've even brought you down to my potty mouthed level now!!! What have I done :D:eek::D

Thanks :D

When having a jumping lesson to prepare for one of my BHS exams I was warned the horse I was riding was prone to go a little loopy occassionally:eek: He did and after god knows how I managed to stay on the instructer with mouth open said I'd have passed you on stage five for sitting and staying on that.:D:o

"she'll never be the prettiest, most correct rider, but horses go well for her because she takes the time to get to know what makes them tick, which makes her very effective"

From a top dressage judge I worked for at the time---- I very nearly fell off his horse! :)

Kenzo - Those are lovely :)

Haha - Well done!

lexiedhb - Good on you, girl :D

lillith - As lopsided as they may be, you did well! As you may have seen from my Ugly Jumping Face pictures, I am Terrified With A Capital T when it comes to jumping!

Why do I have a 45min jumping lesson next week then...!

Cavblacks - You have successfully warped the mind of this widdle baaaybeee 16yo :D Right, I'm gonna go out drinking now and make a scene :p

*runs off and steals a car even though can't drive*

I've got a Blue Cross horse, who's a bit of a handful; the first time the field officer came out to check on us she said "it says in her file that you rode her beautifully, in all my time in this job I've never seen a comment on how the loaner rides so you must be a good rider"
I was chuffed & very surprised as I was nervous & didn't think I'd ridden her that well.
I'm going to have it put on my gravestone!

QR - My instructor is always telling me I am a "very neat and quiet rider who lets the horse find its feet before asking for more."

I'm always very chuffed when she says this, I would hate to be an untidy, loud, heavy rider!!

Aw, well done :D

I would also hate to be a heavy, loud and untidy rider!!

when people have said "its not fare, how did you do that? you make it look so easy." This has mainly been when I have been riding their horses for them. Or when people have had a problem and immediately asked me for help or just said ask vik she'll sort it. Its so nice to hear nice comments as its easy to get pulled down by the negative ones :-).

From my horse's old owners. Took him to an event somewhere a couple of years ago, and they were there with their other horse. Obviously they must have watched me do my DR & SJ, I managed to get two DCs and a decent dressage score, and got placed, they came up to me when I was packing up afterwards and went to be "Never in the 5 years that I owned him has he ever gone that well for anyone, I've never seen him looking so good." Gosh I was over the moon, was better than getting placed!! I just burst into tears straight in front of her, it meant so much.

When riding a five year old, Hearing my Instructor and Boss saying how well I was riding her, and that we suit each other. And that they were both over the moon with my riding, and I should be incredibly proud of myself. May not mean much to some, but to me, it meant everything :)

They're the only ones I've done so far! I'm lazy xD

Sol - they're wonderful!! You're obviously very talented, and the pics on your sig are amazing too! Do you do that as a hobby or for work too?

TG - Yes I had been meaning to check up on it, I think the summer hack idea was fun! Does your place do hacks? I was looking it up today and saw you're in the greeny part of Mill Hill!
