I live really locally to Nick Gauntlett - I see from his new website (quite flashy I might say...) that he has been running 'Ride like a Pro' sessions at his base. What does everyone think of his teaching - need something positive to look forward to and don't want to have to drive miles. I did a clinic @ Pontispool last year and thought he was good but just wondered what you all thought!

If you learn't and you thought it was good that is all that counts? What suits one person does not suit another.

I have signed up to a NG clinic in feb. Have never been taught by him.

I'm on the feb clinic as well - I'm guessing we're all going to the one at SLM which is mega-cheap! Only £45 for 1 hr SJ and 2 hrs XC including day stable and lunch. Good value since SLM charge £22 for XC schooling now (or thereabouts).

SC and I are both hopefully on the 19th Feb one. We are travelling from Gordano/Burnham on Sea area.

I was thinking of doing this clinic too at SLM, coming from Usk myself... looks like it might be a busy one! Ive never personally had lessons with him but have observed some (and also warming up of pupils at events!) and he seems to have a very nice style of teaching..

Not a fan

Hi, I'm at livery round the corner from his yard too. Never been taught by him and heard mixed reports but willing to give a clinic a try. It's only £20 for an hour so worth a look. Let me know which one you are fancying and maybe we could meet there!

Thought I would do the 3 Sundays (Pre-season Sunday's) - bargin as only £50 & then try to go to Boomerang as he will know me and my horse a little better and it will all be progressive?

My friend and I are going to the Stockland Lovell clinic on 9th Feb, thought it was great value whatever. Hope we can get out on the XC course.

I've had a couple of lessons from him and find him very good. I found he gave good advice for all of the phases and caters for all levels of ability. Also good to have someone who's able to adapt to each individual combination rather than treating everyone as the same.

I thought he was well worth the journey

cool, sounds like a plan, I need something to look forward to with all this snow and non-riding malarkey!! PM me your name if you like and we can ask to be at the same times then it might be a bit more fun than going alone too!

I love these 'first post, no introduction of yourself' endorsements, they always make me wonder if it is the person being asked about responding, someone who works for them etc!

lol was thinking the same thing! ... although Im sure they have far better things to do than trapse through forums anonymously endorsing themselves? or maybe not!

someone asked a question that i felt i could give a relevant reply to. Its a personal opinion. You may take it or leave it

Didn't realise i was supposed to give an introduction before i posted anything
