Nick Gauntlett Gossip

No I didn't which is why I don't really want to comment it was just a first impression which was formed, and I am aware that it is probably totally inaccurate! It was my mother that made the remarks that lifeslemons is talking about earlier.

The only remark that I have really made openly is that she seemed nice enough and probably could be the making of him if she is good at dealing with people, in the nicest possible way, I know from talking to previous owners that it is that side of the sport that lets Nick down, as he is without doubt talented.

I'm not really (deliberately/intentionally!!!) slagging either of them off here, just adding my opinion (which probably isnt valid!)

It is interesting how quickly people forget exactly what they type. Your original post did not say OMG. It said something similar but included inappropriate language, albeit with *** blocking out some of the letters, which is why it was edited. The post responding to you quoted your post which is why that was also edited. The edit did not change the nature of your post - it simply brought it in line with the terms and conditions.

I think people these days are fast to judge on first impressions, visual of course. If you are ever at at event and see Lexi there then go and have a chat to her - then form a view. Lexi is a great people person and has a certain "Flair" dealing with people, it never ceases to amaze me how many people will just start chatting to her for no reason, great for networking! I don't know Nick well enough to know about his people skills but if one person can change that ........
 
Yes fair dos, I wasnt trying to view my opinions on either of them, I was just saying to everyone that was "slagging them off" that if they make eachother happy then good for them. I agree that people, definitely myself included are far too fast to judge people... but like i say i really wasn't trying to slag her off, I am sure that she is a lovely person who makes Nick very happy

I certainly wouldnt have expected Nick to settle down in love for a few more years yet but think it's very sweet he's met someone who sounds great.

Think the TV show could be worth watching though

Matchstickmaker you're obviously good friends with this Lexi girl and are therefore sticking up for her, which is lovely!! Although no one has made any derogatory comments about her.. ok they've talked about her welth but that's vulgar not unfair!!
You on the other hand have made unfair comments about someone which i'm yet to see a 'sorry' for...
 
Me too! Its took me half an hour to read, much better than an episode of eastenders though! So dare i ask what its called/ when its on?
 
Good friends to both Nick and Lexi, and sorry for what ... please don't tempt me to put the full story on here - if you knew the facts then you would keep well and truly quiet!
What you are actually doing is keep drawing attention to what has been said.
 
I have nothing to do with a TV company - sadly and I am not going to give away the name of the show which I am sure you will find most amusing - I do however know that it is on in November, just before Nick and Lexi jet off to Thailand for a few weeks. No need to drum up interest, there appears to be enough of that and the BBC have not even started to work on it yet. Oh and the last time I looked I was not female!

can i just say - I have no idea who these people are, and I don't care, and I won't be watching any reality/matchmaking nonsense on the TV either. It doesn't sound as though it is likely to do eventing any favours.
 
I think you will find that mtchstickmaker may well be nicks Mother or sister both of whom put their half pennies worth on the forum. and match stick person before you get tweaky with me remember that i am very familiar with Nick, though not lexi and it was my advice to her via a mutual friend to leave this thread be. i was already putting a few of the rumours straight and i think is fair to say i am one of teh eventi ng oracles on this forum.
also if you are such a good friend or relative you will now as well as i that nick spends plenty of time on the web, i seem to recall he built his own web site, but even if he didnt he was one of teh first eventers to have a web site and see its potential. you are well aware he is no friend of mine but i am a very fair person and do not care for the tone. if either of teh couple did not want to e discussed i suggest TV shows inappropriate, as was telling rachel wakefield for her Eventing column and putting it on his web site. You, he and all of team gauntlett might think about the nearly 1800 people who have viewed this thread before giving the forum users a hard time over something that was originally a fairly innocent and light hearted comment as far as i could see.
and for the record, i hope they have a long happy life together but i liked Elodie as it happened and think well before lexi arrived that Nick was not always fair to her.

TBH it isn't the sort of thing a lot of us will be watching - there are 6 progs in the "Arrange Me A Marriage" series, to be screened on BBC2 - debates regarding arranged marriages and all that... this is the official blurb from the prog makers...

Arrange Me a Marriage is presented by Aneela Rahman, who is happily married with children after an arranged marriage over 14 years ago. Aneela uses her experience and networking skills to try and find romance for Helen, a single lady in her 30s. Aneela takes a look at Helen's love history and ex boyfriends to try and work out where she's been going wrong. Helen wants to settle down with a man but hasn't had much success in her love life so it's down to Aneela to help. She works with Helen to find out what she's looking for in a partner and applies the Asian principles of 'arranging a marriage' to get their friends and family to help find potential matches. She then chooses a suitor and meets him at a final party!
 
Weezy - 5 programmes actually and the one you quoted is from the pilot version which was screened in Feb. The new series is a little different although runs along the same lines. If you search it on Google videos you can find the actual programme on there.

Just for the record I am no way shape or form related to Nick, I am male too.

Lexi has not been given any advice to not read this thread, she is an intelligent enough lady and if she wanted to log on and say something then she would, she chooses to say nothing and allow you all to think what you like. Nick and Lexi find the whole thing amusing especially the fact that people on here claim to know them and give them advice which is rubbish!

I see people will say they have no interest in the programme or thread - so why comment?!
What will be will be.

Nick spends a lot of time on the web - correct and I understand most of it is trying to recruit pirates on Facebook!! He has not got me yet though ......
 
I have an interest in the programme! I'll definitely be watching, but only the episode with Nick in.

I thought you originally said Nick didn't have time for the internet

Cos it's fun winding up Missmatchmaker or Matchstickmaker of whatever they're called.. whom seems to have taken every post on here the wrong way.. as i don't remember any one posting that they were telling Nick what to do with his life apart from Matchstickman who sounds like the leader of the Gormless fan club.
 
Matchstickman seems to be the biggest stirrer out of everyone on here. The only person to have made really nasty comments about someone - and he is trying to take the moral high ground. I hope I don't know him in RL.
