Yes Nick will be a proud dad, and perhaps a liitle envious as he fancied being a jockey himself! Harry is another loss to show jumping - certainly from a personality point of view. Had an outgoing personality from an early age.
SJFAN- Certainly did a nice interview apparently- I didn't hear it. Had a cracking smile after crossing the finish, really thrilled with himself!
I quite agree ziggins- it's nice to see that there is no apparent 'You WILL want to SJ'. I always worry slightly in big one discipline families how many of the kids would have chosen it as their sport if the family didn't do it. Not that I mean to say they don't enjoy it, just would they have chosen it.
I didn't think he was a very good show jumper. He didn't seem to have inherited his dad's talent, so no loss for show jumping. However a great thing for racing it would seem. Well done Harry. Does he jump or flat?
He's a jump jockey. Bit harsh to say he wasn't a good show jumper - he chose to stop not long after coming out of 12.2s! Both he and older brother Daniel have their dad's love of racing, and work for leading trainer Paul Nicholls. Daniel is assistant trainer, Harry is a conditional jockey.
I said very good. It was only my opinion. Can't be good at everything. From remembering see him ride I can quite imagine him racing. Fantastic for him, at least he is not lost from the equestrian world! One to watch then?
Nice to hear what has happened to people from years ago!
Sorry, a bit late, but in case you didn't find out, he got brought down by another horse which had a rather heavy fall before him. Don't think any harm done though.
Lovely interviews by Harry today, well done.He was always destined to be a jockey, and he was a very good showjumper, by the way!Smashing comments also by Claire Balding and Richard Dunwoody.

Because I used to compete at the same shows! As I said can't be good at everything. Must have been hard for him show jumping, having a name like that people expect something from you. So not rubbish, as I saw him ride many times. He is obvously a very good jockey.

[/ QUOTE ] o i worked for them whilst on ponies so just wonderd where n when the not good showjumping bit is from?????
Oh ok. Like I said just my opinion from seeing him ride. I remember him riding quite foward so can see him racing. Great for racing to have another talented up and coming jockey. Then again maybe a loss for show jumping as some of our guys do lack a bit of zest out of the saddle!
