fantastic pics. must admit, this gives more ammunition to my argument about being forward being okay. LG says a horse is like a see-saw, one end can't come up unless you are sitting on the other, so if you go forward on take-off the horse can't come up in front to clear the fence.

btw, that fence is prob about 3'9" at the front, 3'11" at the back, spread of about 6'ish, and i reckon he's taking off about 10' or 11' away.... it's a long one, but there wasn't another one there if he was on an increasing, open stride. he'd easily have cleared it if it had been 5' imho.
iirc the great Murphy Himself took a stride or two out somewhere and the fence judge measured take-off to landing as 27 yards...
i love these horses who make 4* look like a Novice. we don't see them often.
I only have a picture of just before his feet hit the floor but you can see where he'll land. Sorry I don't know how to make them any smaller... I wish they were as good as the OP's pic
