Nike long riding boots

Hmmm, I see where they are coming from with trying to break into the market but personally give me a nice pair of long leather boots any day. And I REALLY don't like the screw in spur. There is something nice about having nice leather spur straps. Maybe I'm just too old fashioned though

Would be interesting to see if anybody had used these though.

Oh dear, I really like them (apart from the spur)!

Me too. Remove the spur and I would think about purchasing a pair.

I showed these to my OH with a rather

look on my face and he said well I'm not surprised, all the sports companies only started making golf shoes a few years ago, now look how popular they are.

I'm still a little

but with the new generation of SJ'ers without the proper jackets I suppose they will catch on!

ETA: as a second thought they will catch on if they are soft and comfy!

Errr no, they're so ugly! What is up with the heel...
Who the hell would actually buy them, and why did nike even bother making them?! Haven't they made enough money selling rip-off price trainers already?

Hmmmm not sure about them to be honest. They have some interesting features that have obviously been thought out quite well for riders but that heel is vile......

HHmmm I like a traditional boot, but there are some bits of this i like too. I don't like the look of the heel, but I do like the idea of the cushioned sole and the synthetic inside leg to improve grip (i do find my leather boots slidy compared to chaps). Would prefer a more subtle logo and I don't like the zip. I'm not sure about the spur. I do like a traditional looking spur set with strap, but this would be very practical, however I would want the option to change the head to various types, like a smaller nub type one and perhaps the option to offset it?
I hate to say it, but I think they'll catch on, specially amongst sj'ers. Would I buy a pair - no, not yet - but if they tone them down a bit and changed the heel (and they do short assed sizes) maybe.

The spur is apparently screw-in and there will be interchangeable option (all at vast expense, i have no doubt). I don't want "high-abrasion material" against my horse's sides though.

I really doubt that these boots will catch on with riders. I suspect there will be loads of them parading around the High Street, probably complete with long spurs, and never coming within 100 yards of a real live horse though.

Weezy (or anyone else that may know the answer!), speaking of Bromonts and synthetic inside leg, do you know if they are BD legal? I always assumed they were but my friend questioned it the other day and it got me thinking!

:whispers: I do actually quite like them, apart from the spur which is nasty!

In my defence (sort of) we do have a lot of Nike stuff in this house as hubby does athletics so I am used to the style of it!

I don't think it'll be SJ'ers you'll see them on, I hear the stamped of the endurance lot!

The screw in spur is horrible. What if you want another style? You couldnt polish them either.... I'm a freak and like cleaning my long leather boots....

I really like them - even the screw in spurs - I think that is a really good idea. I find walking around in my spurs at a show my heels always get rubbed by the spurs.

I like the idea of the zip as it would be easier to put on, just slip your foor it.

The only thing that would put me off would be how easy is the sole to replace? As that always goes on my boot before the actual boots look shabby.

I can't see them being competion legal though - I would have thought that the disciplines would get snotty about the logo and that inset - it not being leather.

Oh dear!!

At least you would hardly ever lose your spurs!!!! But my god...what gave them that idea??!! Id rather spend my money on tradtional leather boots!
