So I’ve always used the nitwax rug wash for horses waterproofs and as I’ve had it in my cupboard anyway used it for my own waterproof jackets (says suitable for got tex fabric and that’s what my jackets are).
But on going to restock I’ve noticed the tech wash essentially says the same thing on the bottle and costs less.

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the too or just some clear marketing to us equines?

Liquid soap by DriPak is suitable for waterproof clothing and costs about £2-3 for the bottle. A lot of supermarkets and hardware stores sell it or have a look online.

I asked Nikwax that question - the reply was vague...... but I do use very small quantities on my jackets compared to rugs.

I had a big bottle or rugwash years ago that was cheaper than TechWash at the time, I used it for my jackets but felt that it did allow a bit of build up. What the difference actually was I have no idea! I now have a combined Grangers wash and proof in a big bottle from Go Outdoors and it's doing a good job, and not expensive.
