Why does my mare feel the need to nip me when I am going out of her stable??? Stupid question but she does do it.

If you know she's always going to do it...I'd be tempted to have a full water pistol ready aimed, or stuck under your armpit waiting for her to nip!

Or do what Richard Maxwell suggests which is have your nice pointy elbow ready to bump her firmly on her nose as she gets ready for a nip. Let her think she's done it herself! Turn round and give her a head rub and ask in your most sympathetic voice: oh dear! Did you bump your nose on my elbow? I guarantee if you are 100% consistent in doing that it will be history in 2 days x
