I am thinking of getting rid of my little peugeot car and getting a Nissan Navara,Do any of you guys use one of these for towing and what is the fuel usage like.We will keep the defender aswell for pulling two if we need to.So the Navara will just pull a 510 trailer and fat horse of about 650kg's.Any info would be good thanks.

Hi
We have a Nissan Navara 2.5 diesel which we use to tow a Ifor Williams 505. It tows really well, no problem up hills and the fuel consumption is really not too bad. I'm not too good on miles to the gallon or anything, but it's pretty reasonable. Sure it would tow a 510 no problem at all.
Also managed to get us out of an EXTREMELY boggy field at Richmond horse trials yesterday with no problem whatsoever.

Mine fetches big bale haylage from the local livery yard, and tows 2 x 16hh in our Cheval Liberte with absolute ease.

Dad worked it out for me and it does 28-30mpg on diesel on a 2.5 engine.

Wouldn't be without it, but its a b*gger to park in supermarkets etc compared to my old Fiesta!!!!

we went to look at one yesterday and both me and my old man loved it.He wants to bling it up with bullbars, rollcage, loadliner and rollertop.I said it will be a working vehicle not a bling fest.

) is going to buy one for towing out hunting this season (if we ever get a season due to FMD).

I am also looking for a tow car and didn't think of looking at these. Seen a couple for sale near me and they seem reasonably priced. Does any one know how much longer they are in relation to say a Misibishi (sp) Shogun.

I have a Nissan Navara and they are absolutely brilliant for towing! Never had a problem.

Only thing I found was that there is not much room inside the double cab for tack, kit, dog, etc when competing, so I got a 'SnugTop' and it's great - I now have loads of space for my tack and kit in the back - it is like a mobile tack room!

Fuel isn't too bad, but I only tend to use it for pulling the trailer and fetching horse feed! Probably not that good for a run around!
