Nissan pathfinder

Not a Pathfinder, but a Navara. Amazing thing.

I've found it to be very easy to drive, has towed 2 fat lumps (heavy broodies) with no problems, very comfortable and fairly roomy.

I tried a Toyota Hilux and Mitsubishi Warrior at the same time. The Toyota was really really nice but carried a (+5k) premium for same year/mileage we were looking at. Mitsubishi Warrior is the worst vehicle I have ever driven. Windscreen was too small and made you feel boxed, didn't get on with the mirrors for reversing and couldn't get a feel for where I was on the road which I've never had a problem with before.

So I wouldn't rubbish a car simply because of it's make. Nissan parts are expensive but very reliable and have recently got a new set of alloys in a recall (yet to know a manufacturer without a recall at some point). It was fantastic through the snow and helped plenty of people back on the road and yet to have a problem past general age wear and tear servicing which is expected on any make and all done at home easily.

VW and Nissan have my money every time. Toyota would if I was a bit flusher :D

Picked up my pathfinder on Thursday
(What a surprise it was ready at the end of the final years 1/4 :D)
Love it so far! Tow bar going on on Tuesday
I drove it from Bradford to Manchester, then home to Chester. Motorway and A roads. Reset the MPG calculator
(It said 25mpg from the manger who has had it for 2 months)
I got 38mpg going home all that way and yesterday on A roads (to vet to visit daughters pony) including quite a lot of stop start traffic on the 51 I got 36mpg so I'm pleased so far. I'll mostly do A roads and m/way
So the only thing I'm going to have to work on next week is mastering reversing the trailer. I got quite good with the Rav but it was a shorter car so I'm guessing I'll have to re learn a bit!

If I was upgrading it would be a pathfinder all the way for me :) we have had our Xtrail for 5/6 years now and its been brilliant towed me and ponies up and down the country :)

We test drove one, it was fabulous and didn't feel like a beast and handled great :)

My parents had a pathfinder but now got the BMW x5. The pathfinder was reliable but a bit too big and heavy for my mum to drive so they went for the x5 they didn't tow with it but they never had issues with it!
