Hi - just a quick one - can anyone tell me the towing capacity of a 2000reg, 2.4litre, petrol, 3 door terrano and also the kerbweight? I want to know if it will pull 2 x 16.2hh in a Bateson trailer. Thanks

I don't know about the 2.4litre, although the 2.7 Diesel SWB or LWB tows two horses and a 510 easily. They vary so much though, try ringing the Nissan dealer, they should be able to tell you.

I have one and it pulls my two fine .I have a tb who is 510 and a welsh cob who is 460.My trailer is also very heavy. My terrano is a 2.8 tdi so that would make some difference. The pulling capacity is in the ref/log book.
My friend has the same car and her horses are considerably bigger neither of us has a problem great cars for pulling its what they are built for.Another friend on the yard has the short wheel base and the 2.4 and travels long distances with her two horses.Hope this helps.

Your model of Terrano can only tow 2000kg. My TB 16.2 weighs 625kg. Double that and add the trailer and I think you will find your car is not legally or technically up for it.

Don't risk your horses. Get something with more guts.

The 2.7TD version can tow 2800kg and the newer 3.0TD can pull 3000kg.

Just spoke to Nissan people and it will pull 2800kg, I know our X-trail will only pull 2000kg - hence getting something that will pull 2.

Cellie - how big are your friends horses with the 2.4 SWB model?
