Well I've gone and entered Tarquin for his first ever show. I'm only doing in-hand classes as we still have not established a canter where I am not launched into orbit and he has never been to a show before, so at 5 years old I think it will be a bit mind blowing for him.
I'm really interested to see what the judges will think of him as everyone at home that sees him says he's a star.
I have taught him to trot in hand and hopefully I can keep up. He likes to do his Welsh Cob stallion inpression and no doubt the excitement of the show will bring it on.
I have got all prepared, will not be unloading him without his bridle and long lunge line as I expect that for the first 10 minutes he will be a nutter.
Been really down about our progress recently
and hopefully this will help. I just want him to behave and if we come home empty handed ok as long as he stands and performs I don't care.
