No Bute Premium - side effects / any one used it before?

After quite a bit of research and a discussion with my vet, I've decided to put my boy on No Bute Premium, he has OCD in his stifle joints (this is in a different post), he's been on it for about 10 days and it takes about 2 weeks to start working. Has anyone used this and did you notice any difference?
Also, I was just doing some more research and was shocked to find out that apparently Devils Claw can cause gastric ulcers. I also read an article where a different bute substitute caused behavioral changes... has anyone had any experiences of these negative effects? Thanks JB

No direct experience of NoBute, sorry, but generally on Devil's Claw, my mare has been on Buteless for years and has never had a gastric problem that I'm aware of.

My horse has been on different varieties of Devil's claw since his OCD op last March and hasn't shown any side effects at all.

Have you tried Boswellia Serrata (Frankincense) ? I get this from Mile End Supplies. It has been tested quite thoroughly and found to be as effective as Ibuprofen. I take it for my back and my mum takes it for her arthritis. The only negative for animal use is the rather strong smell - to counter this I add cinnamon, useful to mask all medicinal additives and beneficial in it's own right.

Another possible is serrapeptase - I have not tried this but I have heard glowing reports.
