We have no lights in our stables at the moment and im struggling badly with mucking out/doing rugs at night....

I need some cheap (skint.com) lights/torch i can hang up? as its only temp....

Any ideas?

I used a (crap) torch the other day but my eyes are crap anyhow so i was a bit buggered!!

Mare is bombproof with anything flashy/noisy so anything will work!

Any suggestions?!

I'd try going to Poundland (I used to work there) I think you can get some little lights that you can hang up. Things do vary from store to store! They had them in my local, but unsure how many others they'd be in :) Good luck!

Ive got the lights you can hook up (that mechanics use) they just run off a car battery & head torch from Proper Job.....brilliant, then the only elec bill you get is from occasionally charging battery up, although I have a solar charger (ebay £9) that I put on batteries i'm not using which trickle charges them :) :)

I have a Petzl head torch which I use for most things at night. I just put in rechargeable batteries and swap them every couple of days. We do have lights, but I don't bother to turn many of them on at night as the torch is adequate for most things.

Coincidence, I was looking up solar powered lights on ebay before I came here for my daughter to put in her field shelter. Only around a tenner, but postage of £6 is a disgrace!! They must be available in shops somewhere..

These are surprisingly good, we have three stables and a hay store and all are lit with these, one in each stable plus two under the roof overhang, the light obviously isnt blinding but is good enough to muck out by. they are good on batteries but rechargeable batteries would be a good idea

They are pull cord operated though so there is a dangling cord but only about 6 inches long

They can be fitted on a wall as well as overhead
