Heard the company that made hemcore have gone bust, i love the stuff! 10 times better than easibed!

Any alternatives that are just as good?!

Oh no!

I really hope that is just one of those rumours as I love it too!

An alternative is Miscanthus which looks really good, but it depends on where you are in the country I think as to whether you can get it or not - I certainly can't here, without getting it in bulk unfortunately. If not Miscanthus then the only other bedding I like is Aubiose, but it it much more expensive which is a real pain

This was in our local paper ages ago. Miscanthus IMO is no where near as good as hemp, so Aubiose is the only real alternative to Hemcore. We trialled Miscanthus at work and we all hated it so I guess it is like marmite.

Try Bliss, I think it is fantastic. Very absorbant and degrades quickly, even the plastic bags!

Very light to work with. In winter has eucalyptus for breathing and in the summer citronella to deter flies.

Bliss sounds interesting .... but a work of warning, I have had hemp + citronella before and all the horses tried to eat it as the citronella made it sweet. (I mixed it 3/1 with shavings to stop that!)

B**** about Hemcore though, I've used it for years.

Heard this the other day (a couple of days after I heard that Easibsed had gone bust) which is a real bummer as I use(d) both of them for my horses. Aubiose is now £10 a bag around here and not very good shavings are £7.50.

A friend suggest Cushionbed which I am going to investigate.

:O nooooo please tell me this isnt true, i love the stuff and IMO bliss or aubiose is nowhere near as absorbant

*goes off to have a little cry* lol

QR - I have it from the horse's mouth that the part of Hemcore that does the bedding is likely to be bought out as a going concern. The business as a whole also deals with the building and motor trades and that side has suffered in the current climate.

Fingers crossed as it is a great product.

Never heard of bliss!!
Aubiose is too expenive for me ..
Cant have shavings as im on a organic farm ..
Not straw .. ANYTHING BUT STRAW!
