No more smoking in YOUR car

I am glad they have banned smoking while driving. I have followed too many drivers who are holding their cigarette out of the window while driving along. If they have an accident and kill someone while not driving with two hand on the wheel then they are as bad as drink drivers (both are addictions that make people drive at a lower level that they should be) If someone is driving and drops a cigarette how can they possibly concentrate on the road?
 
Smoking whilst driving has not been banned.
As already pointed out, if smoking by a driver proves contributary to dangerous driving then that is the offence.

Whilst we are meant to have 2 hands on the steering wheel at all times I'm afraid we can expect to see the gear stick outlawed in the near future!
 
I actually think its a good idea. Smoking whilst driving is so dangerous.
What happens if someone drives into you or you drive into someone, you get knocked out and your cig is still lit? Accident waiting to happen?
 
Seeing as we are being told smoking while driving is bad and that we should have both hands on the wheel could some one please tell me if taxi's are bad and what about the police when they use their radio's or dash camera's and is the next thing to be band going to be sat nav's.
 
i think smoking whilst driving is as bad as being on the mobile etc.
anything where you are distracted (without due cause) is something that will increase risk
not only would someone have to take their eye off the road to light up
(during which time a kid could run out or your horse could spook etc.a few seconds is a long time when driving even if you are keeping the 30)
but also what if you drop it?!

yes there are other things that distract you too-like kids in the back.

those are things you cant avoid-even the most well behaved kids can be bad!

it is about reducing risk-not only to yourself but to other road users and pedestrians.
if people were more responsible then things wouldnt have to be made law.
