No pockets on a hack - where do you carry your mobile phone?

On a lanyard round my neck in a shock proof case :)

Ive fallen off out a hack before when my horse slipped and fell and my phone went flying from my arm holder. Also come off in the field/school and had my phone crushed from being in my pocket.

Also bit of info but having your phone in your bra when you are sweating will incur water damage to you phone. Had this happen to my last phone insurance weren't waning to pay out song wouldn't recommend down the bra as an alternative.

I specifically buy jodhpurs that have a zip pocket big enough for my phone, and also have a pocket in my hi viz, which, of course, I always hack out in.

My hi-vis has a pocket for essentials. I don't actually own a mobile phone nowadays, but used to keep it on a lanyard round my neck (yes, there was a safety catch in case it ever got tangled etc).

I keep mine down my boot at all times when riding alone. I did buy an arm holster thing, but the one time I needed to call for help I had properly broken my right arm. If my phone had been clipped to my left arm I would have really struggled! As it was, I could use my left hand to fish it out of my boot, so I'll be keeping in there.

I have a little padded waterproof camera bag which I strap to the belt on my jeans I use to clip it to the d ring on front of my saddle till the day I fell off and off went horsie with my mobile so I couldn't call for help lol

I have a small zipped pouch thingy with belt loops on the back. Big enough to carry phone, hoof pick and other essentials, loops onto my belt and stays neatLey out of the way.

To those of you with 2 phones do you link the numbers so if your proper mobile rings and you're at the yard, your yard one rings too?

No, I don't. Close family and friends know the yard one so anything urgent gets through to me, but I mostly have it for outgoing calls. My "proper" mobile and my work one are usually in my car so I do check them occasionally for any missed calls or texts, when I'm out on a hack I prefer not to be in contact unless its something urgent.

Bum-bag or current hi-viz has pockets. Only ever take a phone and tissues, definitely no keys I hide those at the yard and I've never ever needed a hoof-pick so don't carry one.

I was always told never to put a phone in my boot, because the horse could easily land on and trap a leg, but also a leg can be ripped off!!

Sounds gruesome, but it would be sods law that that happened and then I'd be phoneless!

I find putting things in my bra is so uncomfy! So I often resort to jodphurs with pockets: my current favourites are from sherwood forest and they're great! The pocket is just big enough for a phone and keys, without it being uncomfortable to wear.

Would also recommend high vis pockets: they're very roomy and one on each side!

I put mine in the pocket of my hi vis, although thinking a bum bag is a great plan, I often wish I had taken a snack with me so maybe I'll get one of them. My jods do have those stupid small pockets inside that a phone just about fits in so I do use that sometimes.

I've also got a mybunjee which attaches my phone to me which is great, my poor iPhone 4 went through the wars but the 5s has been saved from many yard related injuries because of this, also means I'm less worried about checking the time or reading a text when out hacking as even if I dropped it it's not going far.

I tend to ride in jeans so always have a pocket for my phone! I've always been able to remove stones from hooves using my fingers, and probably wouldn't use a hoof pick even if I had one.

this except I never ever carry me keys when riding, I seem to have an irrational concern about being stabbed by them should I fall off, I also only have one set so what would I do if I lost them out on a hack? so they hang up outside my stable

I have the exact same irrational fear :D

I leave my keys in my car in case the yard needs to move it while I'm out. I only carry a phone and I put it in my jods pocket - I don't like the thought of it being somewhere I couldn't reach with either arm if I break the other one!

I found a really nice light little neoprene waist-belt in a Sports Direct shop. Found it in the "Running" section. Nice and light, so light you don't know you're wearing it, and you can wear it underneath the lightest of tops. I've got an iPhone and it slots in beautifully and lies flat. Also room for a tissue & some change if you need it.

Have also got some cheap and cheerful hi-viz tops (again intended for runners/cyclists) in there.....

Simples :)

To be fair if you came off you could land on your phone in your pocket, bumbag or arm band. And if your leg is ripped off I suspect you would not be in the best shape to make a phone call.
