if you saw a horse for sale and it had no price would it put you off ringing if it said something like "price negotiable as good home a priority"?

TBH I don't bother with adverts with no price. If someone is open and honest they will have a price in mind for their horse that they will share with you. I personally think that this means the horse is either over-priced and they don't want people that know the horse to see what they are asking for it. Or, it is extremely cheap as there is something wrong with it and they want to make out that 'a good home is more important than price.' For all our horses I like to think that this is a priority but people need to give you a ball-park figure so that you know if the horse/pony is in your budget.

That wouldnt worry me too much as it sounds like the owners first prioity is to find a good home and is happy to take a fair offer to try and ensure that. I dont like the POA on ads as then I think £££££££££ :D
Ring it up :)

i'm not buying i'm selling :)

I'd still give an idea of what price bracket it is in. It could mean you'd let a ten grand horse go for eight, or it could mean almost free to good home.. Its better than just "POA" but I would never ring about anything that didn't have price or age on...

It would put me off. If I were selling, I'd put something like OIRO£? but good home more important than price, so negotiable. That way potential purchasers have an idea of what you think the horse is worth.

I always suspect that the seller is keeping their options open and the price may vary depending on how much money they think you have or whether you show that you badly want the horse

On a very high class horse I would expect POA as if I bought it I wouldnt want people knowing how much it cost so discression would be key there

TBH I'd just put £2500 ONO. People will always look to knock your price down a little but putting 'price negotiable' and 'home more important' may encourage people to be really cheeky with offers or even encourage the wrong sort of people to ring up. These are things you could always mention once they've asked sensible questions and seem like normal sane people who are right for your horse. :)
