Just so fed up as haven't been able to ride for over a week due to really bad back/leg. Not much sign of improvement either. Doc and osteopath not much help. My two lovely horses are on an enforced break. Sorry to moan.......

Barbann, I am in the same boat as you :( Had my knees drained yesterday and Dr has said that riding is off limits until he can advise otherwise. Bit of a bummer really.

Hope your back & leg improves soon :)

I know how you feel. I too have had a knee op and cant drive or ride for 8 weeks!

Luckily, my 4 year old has done a fair bit of training over the summer and is now having winter off before returning to work in january/ February.

I am having horse withdrawls!

Can I join too!? I haven't ridden for the last 8 weeks as I am on enforced box rest after breaking my leg. It is rubbish. Plus my lovely fit tb eventer has now turned into something resembling an overgrown exmoor pony. I measured the muscle loss in my left leg yesterday, I have lost 1.5 inches on my calf and 3 inches round my thigh (and my legs weren't that big to start with). :-(

I'm joining too! :( Iv not ridden since mid June - nearly 4 months now! Had to have an op on my ankle to 'fix' it after an accident 4 years ago falling off! However its not healed very well and so I still cant walk without a crutch, drive or ride! Talk about climbing the walls! However the real icing on the cake is they are debating whether I now need another op to stabilise things more. Totally gutted but dont think there is much I can do. :(
So yeh my 2 have been pretty much on an enforced break since then :( My lovely YO has been amazing and has been hacking them wen shes had time but sometimes thats a couple times a week and other wks not at all so really they are totally unfit now. Im so frustrated as my young one is only 5 and I feel like hes done nothing other than the basics and is so far behind in his training and is just being ruined.. It is so frustrating..
Fingers crossed we will all be able to ride again VERY soon.

Me too! Not ridden for a month, and had only just got going since the last injury (to same arm). Got my event mare back from stud (not in foal) and haven't been able to sit on her - she hasn't been ridden for 6 months. Am about to take shoes back off her and have a winter with unclipped, unrugged horses! Now awaiting an op, which took 4 months before I could ride last time. Not happy - especially in all this great weather, and watching a friend go round a ODE yesterday that I would normally be doing on my horse. Oh well - hopefully I will feel better about it when the winter really kicks in!
